General education goals and the course
CIS 212 is a general education course that is designed to help students:
- Use appropriate methods of critical thinking and quantitative reasoning to examine issues and to identify solutions (General Education Goal 2).
- Distinguish the methods that underlie the search for knowledge in the social and behavioral sciences (General Education Goal 7).
- Integrate information technology knowledge that will deepen their understanding of, and will inform their own choices about, issues of personal and public importance (General Education Goal 8).
CIS 212 provides students with fundamental knowledge of computer information systems and application software skills.
