CIS 215 - Introduction to Business Programming

Course Description
Introductory computer programming course using a structured programming language to solve business problems. This course will introduce: algorithm concepts and development; structured programming methodologies; language syntax; graphical interface design and event based programming.
Course Objectives
  1. To learn structured Visual Basic.NET programming concepts and processes
  2. To provide a working knowledge of the general problem solving and program development process using problem decomposition and top-down bottom-up development techniques
  3. To learn to create and incorporate subprograms and reusable source code to enhance programmer productivity
  4. To learn how to create, edit, and test projects, programs, and data files using the Visual Studio.NET integrated development environment
  5. To learn how to create presentation layer code within the Windows XP operating system
